Since this is an obvious "No soup for you!" situation, we
thought we should start with the good news. Lincoln has confirmed that
the full-size Navigator SUV will see another generation.
But Ford's new strategy towards better economy figures means that the Navigator will no longer benefit from a V8 engine and will gain a EcoBoost V6, as MotorTrend reports, quoting Lincoln's director Matt Van Dyke.

We know there are some purists out there that aren't quite happy about this, but at least they shouldn't worry about performance, because the Navigator will be powered by Ford's already popular turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, with an increased output of 365 HP and 410 lb-ft of torque.
Consequently, the new Lincoln Navigator should come with improved fuel economy and an acceleration time from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) of only 6.5 seconds.
On the other hand, the new Ford Expedition will get to keep its 5.0-liter V8 option (360 HP, 380 lb-ft torque) along with the base 3.7-liter V6 and probably the same EcoBoost V6 developed for the Navigator.
