Rolls Royce Wraith (Ghost Coupe) Teaser Photo

Is it the Ford Mustang Fastback? No, it's the sexy new coupe from Rolls Royce. Last week, the famed British company revealed a smoky teaser in which the Spirit of Ecstasy presented itself in a ghostly manner.

Today, they've also revealed their first photo of the actual car, a side shot that. This seems to show that the Wraith sports suicide-style front doors. As far as we know, this is unique on any coupe should at the moment.

What else do we know? Only that the car will be Rolls' most powerful one ever and that will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March this year.

We believe that under the bonnet is a re-worked version of the Ghost's 6.6-liter twin-turbo V12 engine that now makes 600 horsepower. The car has been extensively tested on the Nurburgring track, so it could be the first Rolls with a pulse.

Rapper The Game Has a New Rolls Royce Ghost

Honestly, it's hard to tell if these rappers really have a limitless bank account or they know somebody from a rental car company. But since they're all wholesome members of society and would never lie to us, we'll take their word at face value… for now.

Famous rapper The Game has developed a bit o a car fetish, a British one at that. Last time we checked up on him, he had customised his Bentley Continental GT coupe with a bright paintjob and a body kit.

But that's not the only cool Brit in his garage, apparently. This sparkly new Rolls Royce Ghost saloon just popped up on his Instagram account. It appears to have just been delivered and hasn't even gotten its license plates yet. Late Christmas gift perhaps?

The Game already had a red Ghost in his garage, but this doesn't look to be a repainted car. So let's add up the cars: Jeep Grand Cherokee, Camaro, at least three Bentleys, a Porsche Panamera and Maybach if we're not mistaken. Now that's a car collection!

Rolls Royce Wraith Set to Debut at Geneva 2013

Prestigious British carmaker Rolls Royce has officially announced that their most exciting car ever will debut at the Geneva Motor Show this March. Described as the most dynamic and powerful model, this new new car even has a name now.

We've been following a mysterious prototype that Rolls Royce has been testing on the Nurburgring for about a year now. And every time, we called it the Ghost Coupe, which technically it is, or the Corniche, a speculative name from the company's past that was supposedly trademarked.

However, the model's true name is the Wraith, a Scottish dialect world for Ghost… what else. In new-age supernatural mythology, they are creatures that can only be seen in reflection that feed on human's energy. You have to admit their teaser photo does have a supernatural quality to it.

The official announcement was made today, as Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, confirmed the news at the company’s World Dealer Conference in London.

The "most powerful" part of the announcement refers to the traditional 6.6-liter V12 twin-turbo engine under its bonnet which has supposedly been boosted to about 600 horsepower. The 2.5-ton coupe will also have a new eight-speed automatic transmission at its disposal.

“Rolls-Royce Wraith will draw superlatives when it is unveiled in Geneva,” he explained to representatives of the 100-strong global dealer network. “Expect the boldest design, the most dramatic performance and the most powerful Rolls-Royce that has ever played host to the famous Spirit of Ecstasy figurine. We will present a model whose starting point is luxury, refinement and exclusivity, traits that have made Rolls-Royce the world’s pinnacle luxury good for the last 108 years. This is a car not only defined by a timeless elegance, but one that encapsulates a sense of power, style and drama,” added Müller-Ötvös.

Rolls-Royce to Reveal New “Stunning” Model in Coming Weeks

Expect to see a new “stunning” Rolls-Royce model in the coming weeks, according to CEO Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes. The new luxury car will debut at the Auto Shanghai Show on April 21st, if we follow his reports. 

The announcement comes barely a week after the company announced a sales record of the 3,575 cars they sold in 2012. Despite the US being Roll Royce’s largest market globally, Mueller-Oetvoes said the company’s expansion will focus more on the western regions of China, where car ownership levels trail those of coastal areas such as Beijing and Shanghai. Europe has seen a shortfall in sales albeit Mueller says that the growing markets US and China will compensate for that fall.

I think the potential in China is yet explored, I will not be surprised for China to be back to No. 1 this year.

If the rumors are true, the British car maker could show their new 2014 Rolls-Royce Corniche Coupe. The design of the new model will probably feature two doors, a low-slung shape and that iconic Rolls-Royce grille. The overall proportions are said to be slightly smaller than the four-door Ghost with different styling and the front and rear end.

Power and specs should mimic the Ghost with its 6.6 liter twin-turbo charged V12 engine which produces 563hp and 780Nm of torque at just 1,500rpm. It features an eight-speed automatic transmission and shares a heavily modified platform with BMW’s latest 7-Series.

Rolls-Royce Announces Revealing of ‘Stunning’ New Vehicle in Two Weeks

While sales of Rolls-Royce models have gone well, in 2012, the prestigious UK manufacturer has now announced that it wants to build on last year’s figures, with the addition of a new model, which is set to be unveiled in two weeks’ time.

The information comes from Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes, who has called the new car ‘stunning’. The venue chosen to unveil the new car is the Shanghai Auto Show, as Rolls is keen to build its image in China further, to help offset poor sales in the brand’s more traditional markets, like Europe, where demand for luxury cars is on the decline.

The Chinese market came second to the US, in 2012, yet officials expect China to take the number one spot, by the end of 2013. The British automaker now has 15 dealerships scattered throughout Asia, and more will be opened in China, as the country accounts for one third of their global sales figure.

Sadly, no more information about the new model is available, so we will just have to wait the two weeks in order to get the full scoop.

Rolls Royce Announces Sales Record in Its 108-Year History

Rolls Royce has announced today a sales record of the 3,575 cars they sold in 2012. This marks the third consecutive and successful year in terms of sales for the 108-years-old marque and it marks the highest annual sales ever for the company. This can be tied to the company’s expansion into new markets where Rolls-Royce motor cars are now sold in more than fourty countries worldwide.

The sales growth across the world included those of Middle East (up 26%), Mainland Europe (up 21%) and Asia Pacific (up 18%), Saudi Arabia (up 63%) and Germany (up 15%) while the United States and China remained the most significant individual markets for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. The report also shows that United States has overtaken China to regain number one regional position. 

There were thirty new or refurbished dealerships opened across the world, taking the total to over 100 for the first time in the company’s history. Rolls-Royce also expanded into new markets, including Latin America, and sold motor cars in more than 40 countries worldwide. Top five dealers with the highest sales are Beijing, Abu Dhabi, Shanghai, Beverly Hills and Saudi Arabia.

These numbers were attained despite the various global challenges in the past year as global business uncertainty and political unrest, preparations for the start of production of Phantom Series II and expansion works at the Home of Rolls-Royce in West Sussex to help the company satisfy increasing customer demand for Bespoke personalisation across the model range.

With all said, Rolls‑Royce has successfully retained its position at the ultra-luxury market, maintaining leadership for motor cars selling above Euros 200,000. Chief Executive Officer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Torsten Müller-Ötvös said;

My aim at the outset of 2012 was another record. I am delighted to announce our sales for 2012 and to celebrate our 10th anniversary with an historic record result, we had an outstanding year in spite of the challenges we faced, and Rolls-Royce now leads the ultra-luxury market by some considerable margin. I applaud the Rolls-Royce workforce for their passion and commitment to this Great British brand and we can look forward to future success.

The company which celebrates its 10th anniversary at Goodwood in 2013 has reported that a major new extension to the Goodwood manufacturing plant will be opened to help the company meet increasing global demand for highly personalised Ghost and Phantom models.
