DMC Fakhuna Aston Martin DBS

German Luxury Tuner DMC has introduced the DMC Fakhuna, a concept design for the Aston Martin DBS. The official release follows after a series of teaser pictures released last week.

Most significant change is an aggressive new front bumper fascia, which is equipped with larger air-intakes and a spoiler lip. Between the front and rear side, side skirt attachments render a lowered and more stretched look.

In order to reduce the lifting forces at the back axle, DMC fitted a shapely spoiler which can be fitted on the rear lid and enhanced with a matching three-part rear diffuser. The latter optically extends the side skirts downwards and holds the two end pipes of the DMC sport exhaust system. Carbon fiber and real actual gold are the dominant colours in this styling package.

The German fitted a new three-part DMC forged alloy wheel. The concave rims and the titanium bolting are combined with a highly-polished rim flange. DMC offers the wheel/tyre combination measuring 9.0Jx21 inches with 245/30ZR21 tyres at the front and 10.5Jx21 rims with tyres measuring 295/25ZR21. 

The new aluminium wheels are complemented with special chassis springs which lower the center of gravity of the Aston by 30mm at the front axle and by 20mm at the rear axle. As part of the performance upgrade, the Duesseldorf-based engineers developed sport catalysers and sport end mufflers.

Aston Martin DBS Successor Revives Vanquish Name

The Vanquish name is back in the Aston Martin lineup, according to CAR Magazine. They report that the British luxury car maker will revive the Vanquish name for the Aston Martin DBS successor, which is based on the AM310 design concept revealed at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2012 about a week ago.

The magazine also released the very first picture and video of a totally undisguised 2013 Vanquish rear end showing a very different back from the current crop of Astons. The cameraphone spy video shows the integrated rear spoiler and a pair of blunderbuss exhausts part of a large diffuser panel, which is designed for maximum aero efficiency and air-cleaving. You will also spot the One-77 styled rear lights.

For the time being we will call the new model and successor to the DBS, the 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish Mk2. Stay tuned for more soon!

Mansory Aston DBS Wrapped in Lime Green Spotted

The temptation to ruin an iconic modern British car must be so great that people just can’t resist. Adding a Mansory kit to the DB9 to make it look like a DBS is all fine and dandy, but in Paris they don’t have the Gumball 3000, so turning the car lime green isn’t a good idea.

This is a wrap done to perfection by a French company called Dartz. With a bit of pearlescent tint, the car looks like it’s some sort of appliance from the 60s or a new sort of grass that shines in the dark.

The car has been dubbed “Outlaw” and was recently spotted by Alex Smalik in the French capital of Paris. This outlaw of the diamond wrap should be illegal.

Leaked: 2013 Aston Martin DBS aka Project AM 310

This looks like the upcoming 2013 Aston Martin DBS, also known under the internal project name AM 310. The four small pictures – which we enlarged – were made at Villa d’Este in Italy where the British sports car will make its official release this weekend. 

When looking at the pictures, it seems that Aston Martin will showcase the red project AM 310 vehicle as a concept, but we all know that this vehicle will be the base for the upcoming DBS and DB9. Feel free to share your opinion on the totally new lower front fascia, interesting design of the side skirts, thee open rear spoiler and the newly designed rear diffuser. In the case you did not notice, the rear lights are borrowed from the One-77 and the front lights are also used on the Aston Martin Virage.

Aston Martin claims that the AM 310 is 75 per cent new. It will feature the same 6.0 liter V12 as you currently find in the V12 Vantage, DBS and DB9 models. Power will be 573hp, an increase of 63hp. Other features will include a transaxle gearbox and wishbone suspension, and the familiar ‘VH’ bonded and riveted alloy frame.

The real changes for the AM 310 will be in the lightweight construction, lower emissions ratings and increased economy figures. Aston Martin will use carbon fiber and aluminium parts for the bodywork with an all-new shape taking design cues from the One-77 and using a higher bonnet to conform with crash regulations. For the first time, the successor will get automatic windscreen wipers and a touch screen navigation system!

Rumours are spreading that this weekend, the replacement for the Aston Martin DBS and DB9 will be on show at the 2012 Villa d’Este Concorso d’Eleganza this weekend. Lake Como saw the official unveiling of the Aston Martin V12 Zagato last year and the Aston Martin One-77 back in 2009 so the rumours seem entirely possible. 

Internally the project is known as the AM 310. Aston Martin claims that the AM 310 is 75 per cent new.
