Not only does Lotus
have five new cars doing the motor show rounds, which is more or less
unheard of, it has released details of yet another. This is the Lotus
City Car Concept. Or maybe it should just be called City Car, since
there are plans to put it into production by October 2013. It’s an
electric car with 177 lb-ft of torque, it weighs less than 3,100 pounds,
and it has a three-cylinder 1.2-liter internal combustion engine that
works as a range extender. Zero to 60 mph happens in nine seconds, top
speed is 106 mph, and battery-only range is 37 miles. Cute thing,
though. Like a Smart, only smarter.
