It’s still not set in
stone, but a release date of 2012 and a price in the region of $200,000
are the latest details on BMW’s Vision EfficientDynamics eco-supercar.
Apart from having to do something about the clunky name, the Munich
motormeisters will be offering 328 hp and 62.6 mpg from a hybrid
drivetrain that includes a three-cylinder diesel engine. If the future
means stuff like thisthe Porsche 918 Spyder hybrid, Audi E-tron EV and
Mercedes-Benz SLS E-Cell then being environmentally friendly actually
sounds like fun. If these cars even make a sound.
