The Lotus Exos Type
125 is in its final development stages after running a test session at
the Vallelunga track in Italy. This is the race car that brings you the
closest to driving a Formula One machine you can get without actually
being an F1 driver. Race legend Jean Alesi was one of the test pilots
and said: "I really feel I can make this car as much fun to drive as
possible." That shouldn’t be too hard, since the basic ingredients are a
650-hp 3.5-liter Cosworth V8 (with redline of 10,300 rpm), six-speed
semi-auto gearbox, plus various carbon-fiber bits and pieces. The less
fun aspect is paying $1,000,000 for one of the 25 to be built.
