Chinese Automaker Dongfeng Makes Blatant Copy of Cadillac SRX
Why is it that whenever a Chinese manufacturer decides that they want to copy a car, they always seem to pick the wrong one? Like that copy of the Matiz which frankly is pointless, though there’s a chance that it was a better quality product that the original Daewoo Matiz which was a failure in terms of safety, performance and looks.

Chinese manufacturer Dongfeng have done it again, choosing the wrong car to copy. They have chosen, wait for it, a Cadillac SRX, which they’ve made smaller, and frankly a bit less ugly than the original SRX. It was produced by one of Dongfeng’s subsidiaries, which usually makes pick-ups and cheap SUVs.

The car will be launched in 2013 and is most likely based on the previous-generation Kia Sorento. It will probably feature a Nissan-sourced 4-cylinder engine to power it along, and since it has shrunk in size, when compared to the SRX, the small engine will have no problem in pulling it around.
