It’s already been seen as a concept, but now the MINI Roadster is officially a production car. This is not the MINI Cooper Convertible, which is (in principle, if not in practice) a four-seater. Consider the Roadster an open-top version of the recent swoopy-roofed Coupe two-seater. Engine choices are also just like the Coupe’s: a basic 121-hp 1.6-liter four-potter, a hotter 181-hp S and a hottest 208-hp John Cooper Works version. The fabric roof is operated manually. Perhaps the company will call that a retro-style feature. The Roadster is on sale now and starts at $25,050 including destination and handling.
