The Gallardo is the best-selling Lamborghini ever, with around 11,800 examples gracing the multi-car garages of the rich and fortunate. But perhaps some potential buyers would prefer not to have all-wheel drive and wish they could have a rear-drive Gallardo. That wish has now come true. The LP 550-2 Spyder has a delicious and nutritious 550-hp, 5.2-liter V10, but that muscle turns just the rear axle, which is augmented by a 45-percent locking differential. Zero to 60 mph happens in 4.2 seconds and top speed is 198 mph. All while having one’s toupee tickled in the wind, thanks to a convertible body style. The thing’s quite light too: 3,344 pounds.
