Saab Australia Closed

Saab Australia Closed

While we wait for them to be rescued by the Chinese or be turned into an electric car company, Saab’s death is still taking its toll across the world. Since the beginning of 2013, Saab Cars Australia has been placed under voluntary administration, closing down its business in Port Melbourne.

Administrator Stewart McCallum said there will likely not be an impact on Australian Saab owners as a result of the closure.

“Saab drivers can be confident their vehicles will be kept on the road and they should have no problems accessing parts over the short to medium term,” he said. “Once we have a better understanding of the level of interest in the business we will be in a position to post a longer-term view.”

The company’s assets will be sold to interested parties, including the remaining stock of unsold vehicles and parts inventories.
