The final production version of the Porsche 918 Spyder
has now been revealed, via the European trademark and design registrar.
The design of the car is no surprise, the only novelty being the rear
lights, which on the prototypes we were getting photos of were mock-ups
from the 911.
The car looks very good - it is instantly recognizable as a Porsche, and it harks back to its spiritual successor, the Carrera GT. It is well-proportioned, and it has an air of Le Mans prototype about it, which only serves to make it even more appealing.
It is also very forward-thinking, featuring a 4.6-liter V8 engine, which makes 580 hp, as well as a 245 hp electric motor, which when working in tandem give the car the power to sprint to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, before topping out at 320 km/h or 200 mph.
If you want one, you can pre-order it starting this September, at a cost of €768,026 or $1,025,000.
