The soft-top version of the pretty Citroen DS3 has just received
its official price tag, in Germany, where it costs from €17,790. It
features a similar system to the one used on the Fiat 500C, and it is
not actually a convertible, per se, as all of the pillars are still in
place and the same as on the regular model.
So, what do you get for your hard-earned €17,790? Well, the basic engine is a 1.4-liter unit, with 82 hp, called VTi 82, but we would recommend you avoid this engine, because it detracts from the appeal of the car, as its performance can only be described as barely enough.
As far as kit goes, the basic car gets six airbags, speed limiter and cruise control and if you want more, you`ll have to opt for the So Chic trim level, which adds climate control, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, metal inserts on the interior, LED daytime running lights and 16-inch alloys.
The version you want, the So Chic VTi120, with the naturally-aspirated 1.6-liter engine with 120 hp, costs €21,120, so if you were planning on buying a DS3 Cabrio, that is the least amount you should be prepared to spend, to get the car in decent spec.
