Audi is among the German carmakers that have managed to radically change the way we look at diesel engines with a V6 that’s more powerful than we though possible for the time being.
The new A6 seen in the latest Ingolstadt commercial features a 3.0-liter V6 TDI that uses a biturbo setup to produce 313 hp between 3,900-4,500rpm, and 650Nm (479 lb-ft) between 1,450 to 2,800rpm. In this sedan setup (it’s also available in the Avant and A7 Sportback), the diesel is powerful enough to propel the car from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 5.1 seconds and onto an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
“The new Audi A6 bi-turbo diesel is one of Audi's most advanced models, so advanced that it's able to make 2000 decisions a second. Our new TV commercial cleverly brings this thought to life through the metaphor of a person clicking their fingers,” Audi says.
The commercial was shot in the Icelandic landscapes, with a click appearing every time the car’s computers react to something. You can also find the ‘behind the scenes’ video of how this TV ad was filmed below!
