Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid - Not Suitable for Hummer Fans

Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid - Not Suitable for Hummer Fans

Woe is us. Volvo has announced its “most technically advanced car ever,” and it’s not available in the United States. The vehicle in question is a V60 Plug-in Hybrid diesel, a world production-car first. The combustion engine is a 2.4-liter turbodiesel making 215 hp and 328 lb-ft of torque and driving the front wheels. The rears are turned by an electric motor that delivers 70 hp and 147 lb-ft. Hook it all up and standstill to 60 mph happens in an eager 6.2 seconds. The car’s range is 621 miles with the option of driving 12.5 miles in electric-only mode, which is enough to drive around town. Volvo will build 1,000 for 2013 and ramp up production after that. To make matters more galling, the V60 is a wagon, a body style not popular with Americans. What is wrong with some people?
