Everybody from BMW to Lexus had something to show the rich people gathered during the 2012 Concorso d'Eleganza at Villa d'Este in Cernobbio, near Como. Except nobody was expecting to see an almost silent electric supercar built by Croatians by the Italian lakes.
Yet here it is, in all its glory, the Rimac Concept One, the first electric supercar with over a thousand horsepower. The car was there to make is ‘concours’ debut there, and thanks to NM2255 and 19Bozzy92, we have video footage.
The car has a total of four electric motors, one for each cornet, giving it all-wheel drive and excellent performance off the line. The 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint is dealt with in 2.8 seconds. The manufacturer also claims that the car can go 600 km (370 miles) on one charge and has a top speed of 305 km/h (190 mph), though not both at the same time.
A limited production run of 88 examples has also been announced, with prices to start at €740.000 ($980.000).
