2012 BMW M5 - M-inence Grease

2012 BMW M5 - M-inence Grease
Once the new-generation BMW 5 Series was out, it was only a matter of time before an M version would surface. But some people might not have expected it to be turbocharged. The 2012 BMW M5 has eschewed traditional, high-revving natural aspiration for forced induction. Which makes sense, because turbos can achieve more power from a smaller displacement, fuel economy improves and, now that the technology has progressed sufficiently, everyone’s happy. Two of them are bolted to a 4.4-liter V8, resulting in 555 hp and 501 lb-ft of torque, the latter chiming in at just 1500 rpm and staying strong until 5750 rpm. Which sounds like a hoot while sprinting from standstill to 60 mph in a fleeting 4.4 seconds. The transmission is a seven-speed double-clutch affair. Generation five of the M5 comes to the States next spring, with price guesstimates hovering around $85,000 or so.
