The 25 Hours of Thunderhill, a pro-am style endurance race held in
the northern California town of Willows, isn’t a race for the faint of
heart. Mazda, the self-proclaimed road-racers brand of choice, set out
to compete in the event in their smallest car – the Mazda2. In and of
itself, not a necessarily impressive feat. But the way they competed is
what draws the imagination.
Mazda transformed a showroom stock Mazda2 into a B-spec, Thunderhill
challenger in just under 25 hours. They did all of this on the floor of
the Performance Racing Industry Show in Orlando, Florida. As soon as the
car had completed prep, it was sent to the racetrack – where it
finished 3rd in class, and 37th overall. Impressive.

time, you can watch a replay of the entire 25 hour live stream here.
