Chrysler Launches Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 Black Edition in China

Chrysler Launches Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 Black Edition in China

The Jeep Cherokee SRT8 is a really mean-looking machine, which makes lesser vehicles tremble and get out of its way in a hurry. However, it seems there was still room for improvement in that department, and now Chrysler has launched a special version of the vehicle on the Chinese market.

It`s called the SRT8 Black Edition, and it is aptly named, as it is completely black. The grille, badges, side rear side windows and rear window, rims, exhausts and plastic body cladding - they are all painted black, and the effect is highly-successful, and it makes the vehicle look meaner still.

Also, considering the fact that it is priced the same as the regular SRT8, we say there is no reason not to buy it over the standard variant. It gets its power from the same 6.4-liter V8 engine, which pumps out 468 hp and 624 Nm of torque, which is sent to all four wheels via a clever all-wheel drive system and a six-speed automatic gearbox.

However, the Grand Cherokee SRT8 Black Edition is very expensive in China, where it is priced from 1.19 million yuan, which roughly equates to $190,000.
