The more you go East, the more people like their sedans, and Peugeot is keen to capitalize on this Eastern love of the sedan, with their (not really) new 408 saloon, a car which is also on sale in China and South America, among other places.
The Peugeot 408 is a sedan version, with a 100mm (4 inches) longer wheelbase, of the 308 hatchback. It is offered in three trim levels, and the car gets a choice of three petrol engines, all 1.6-liter with 110, 120 and 150hp and a 1.6-liter diesel with 110hp.
The car itself doesn’t look that bad, and if it shares the qualities and not just the flaws of the 308 hatchback, it’s definitely worth a look given the much less attractive cars with which it shares its segment and the decent pricing (the car starts at €14,000/$17,800).
