The 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera hard-top has been the big news for a while, but the soft-top version is already on the way. And what a pretty thing it is, with a sleek-shaped roof that preserves the coupe’s silhouette. Porsche also claims the folding mechanism is an innovative lightweight design, employing aluminum and magnesium. Just like its fixed-roof sibling, this car is lighter than the outgoing equivalent, which is good for both fuel consumption and driving dynamics. Following the same pattern, the Carrera cabrio has a 350-hp, 3.4-liter flat six, while the Carrera S version enjoys 400 hp from its 3.8-liter boxer engine. The 2012 911 Carrera Cabriolet will be available this spring, starting at $93,700.
