We’ve said time and time again that automakers are probably
letting photos onto the internet to get more attention. At the cost of
an early reveal, they get double the media attention and sometimes a
frenzy of speculation.
However, we have a snaking suspicion these weren’t supposed to come out yet.Two photos of a potential convertible version of the brand new Corvette Stingray revealed at 2013 NAIAS emerged on theautoinsiderblog.com. Supposedly, these are not renderings, but actual images providing a sneak peak at the C7 Convertible, which is seen here with 1-inch smaller wheels: 18s at the front and 19s out back.
Chevrolet will probably deny these photos are authentic, but from the way those lines are flow into the small boot lid spoiler, we’d say this is what they have planned for the production model.
